Frequently asked questions
How do I give a book as a gift?
Print books: When you check 'Send this cart as a gift' at checkout, a pop-up window allows you to customise a lovely eCard to send to your recipient. You enter your shipping details, but we then send them a card announcing they have been gifted a book; they are then asked to supply a shipping address before the book is sent. If we don't hear from them, the book is shipped to your address. If you are certain you have the correct address, you could instead add their address in shipping details.
If you don't wish your recipient to be sent an eCard and wish the book to be sent directly to the lucky giftee, don't check 'Send this cart as a gift' – rather, simply put their details in as the shipping address.
Each order can specify one delivery address only, though, so if you are ordering for both yourself and for someone else, we recommend you request delivery to your own address and forward the gift copy on yourself.
Alternatively, you can process separate transactions, with separate delivery addresses and shipping charges if you wish. * Ebooks: We will send you an email containing links to digital versions of the book. This is a single-use link, so if you wish to gift it you can forward on to the person of your choice.
When will my purchased book arrive?
When We Remember to Breathe is funded and publishing 1 May 2019 – so, from 1 May, print books purchased from our website will be despatched immediately. In New Zealand, this means delivery via courier within 1-3 working days. Internationaly, this means delivery withing 3-10 working days.
Ebooks are ready now and are sent out via email as soon as they are purchased.
Pre-sales of When We Remember to Breathe were sent out to supporters of our crowdpublishing campaign in April 2019.
